The Cotopaxi Allpa 35L is a well regarded one bag travel pack built for carry on trips, with a suitcase style opening, organized pockets, and a comfortable harness that transfers weight to the hip belt. It gets praise for holding a lot, working well for work travel and gym gear, and replacing a suitcase after some practice with packing. The main caveats are size and laptop fit, since 35L can feel big for everyday use and the back laptop sleeve may not suit larger, thicker machines. It is a strong fit for travel first packing, especially if you do not need a commuter sized bag.

I have had one for a few years and I absolutely love it. It is great for Travel Work (if you plan i'm going to the gym after work ), holds a lot of clothes, and just an overall amazing backpack with a company that strives for sustainability. I only issue with it is laptop zipper on the back – – – it doesn't hold large laptops. Otherwise absolutely amazing.

I got the Osprey daylite 35 for $90 last year before black friday. I sometimes think about the daylite 26+6 but I'm very happy with the 35. Now I'm thinking if I'll take both my hikelite and daylite on my hiking and exploring trip.

Avid traveler for work and non-work and this is the only bag I use. Just gotta learn how to micro pack a bit and you'll never use a suitcase again.

I have the smaller (26L) version of the Allpa and love it for one-bag travel. It's very solid and well thought out. Some folks like the older design but I actually prefer the refresh. My wife has an Osprey day/backpack and after trying mine out, she's planning to replace it with the 20L Allpa mini when it wears out.

This is what I hate about so many of the high end backpacks, they all have tiny compartments only made for mac, not actual work laptops thicker than a napkin.

If anyone has a rec of a backpack with great compartment and around 30-35l I would love to check em out.

I've been using a North Face Surge 2 for more than 12 years and it's been great, but nothing comes close to its size and space.

What work place is giving a thick laptop? Everyone I see either has a 13 inch thinkpad or a 15 inch mac. This bag should fit either of them.

I'm a (not software) engineer so I need a windows laptop, so I've always gotten a top of the line Dell laptop, now a 16', and my personal lap is almost 17' too.

Niche.
Every time I look at one of these brands I feel like they are catering to finance/software/influencers, and those folks always have a 13 inch mac at worst.

I have owned a Pakt travel backpack (original) for 4 years now and love it. It can hold my Asus ROG 17" laptop (snugly). It's a comfortable pack and sits well on my body. 35L, have taken it on many flights as a carry-on with no issues. It even passed the Frontier gate in Denver.

Check out the rePakt section on the Pakt site and see what deals there may be
