This gooseneck phone holder is aimed at bedside or desk use, with flexible positioning that works well for holding a phone above your face or at arm's length. The low price stands out, and the arm is described as having metal springs and hinges with a bolted clamp. The main concern is durability, since the clamp and joint are reported as plastic on some versions and can loosen or fail, especially with heavier tablets or bulky phones and cases. A metal base or a MagSafe version is preferred for more stability and convenience.

Common Questions (4)

  • It can work well with phones, but heavier tablets may make the plastic clamp and articulating joint shimmy loose or fail early. For larger devices, a metal-clamp holder with more range of motion is the safer choice.

  • The joints use screw-tightened hardware and multiple metal springs/hinges, but the clamp itself is plastic. That plastic clamp is the main durability concern for long-term use and heavier devices.

  • It may not hold an iPhone securely even with a slim case, and one user returned it for that reason. If you use a thicker or heavy-duty case, grip and stability become even more important.

  • The MagSafe version is the more convenient option if your phone supports it. The standard arm can still work surprisingly well, but MagSafe makes mounting and removal easier.

What about the springs and other metal hardware? I'd be curios to see it.
I'd have to use other hardware, it's not strictly 100% 3D printed. But for the big arms and stuff, that can be 3d printed

I have a 3d printed one, it is certainly an inferior product in many ways, but it's cheap and if something on it breaks, I just print the new part.

It doesn't have springs, it has screw downs at the joints that you tighten when they're in the correct position.

No metal hardware, even the clamp is plastic.

All the non bulky options fall over with my Google Pixel 10XL
I also have Google Pixel 10XL in heavy duty case due to work conditions on the job. I cannot find a heavy duty case that is magsafe and yes all the lightweight tripods fall over. This is the first phone I've ever had to get a screen repair because I started with a case that was not heavy duty enough and a random crack underneath the surface just appeared.

I can 3D print something like this for about $4!
This has multiple metal springs, hinges and a bolted clamp. You literally can't, let a lone for $4, especially if you factor in the plastic, electricity and cost of a 3D printer.
