I already have a second bike that is steel and it is a fun ride for longer, slower trips. I suspect this one would be similar.
I would not recommend this for a city bike if you will be going onto and off of curbs. A mountain bike or hybrid would be better choices, but they are not nearly as good for long distances.

When a beginner finds themselves on roads without bike lanes and questioning if the car next to you is going to run you off the road, it's much easier to eat a series of potholes at 15+ mph on steel
