Thanks for the bike deal! This looks like a good beginner bike or one to take with you when traveling. The steel is heavier than aluminum or fiber but for non-competitive recreational use that is not a big deal. The steel frame will flex more than other materials which will mean a slight loose of power but a noticeable increase in comfort.

I already have a second bike that is steel and it is a fun ride for longer, slower trips. I suspect this one would be similar.

I would not recommend this for a city bike if you will be going onto and off of curbs. A mountain bike or hybrid would be better choices, but they are not nearly as good for long distances.

Jokes about premium spray paint and wheels with spokes notwithstanding, this looks like it wouldn't be too bad for the price if you just wanted a basic bike for greenway trails.

Looks like a cheap Schwinn Prelude I purchased 13 years ago. Same components, heavy, but it works.

If you're good at working on bikes maybe this would be fine. Personally I'd go with the Ozark trail (and I do know how to work on bikes). Because OT is easily returnable if you get a dud and Ozark has actual bike people designing them. I'd hate to find rando bike engineering problems at 20mph.

They actually don't make anything. It's just a name that can be licensed out that floods Amazon with random junk you could find under those weird Chinese brand names that are just a bunch of random capital letters.

Another common brand is Costway, which is just a Vevor clone.

As someone that lives in a city with lots of chewed up, rough roads, I would recommend steel.

When a beginner finds themselves on roads without bike lanes and questioning if the car next to you is going to run you off the road, it's much easier to eat a series of potholes at 15+ mph on steel

Please tell me this is like the AMD mountain bike. I'm buying one just to collect it because it might become famous like the AMD mountain bike did from Steve's review of it on the Gamers Nexus YouTube channel lol!

At least the G1 definitely has an aluminum frame. The Vevor site says it is carbon steel. HEAVY if true. I've never seen a steel frame with the toptube and downtube shaped like that.

Get a 10 year old used road bike on FB Marketplace instead. It won't look shiny and new, but it will be 10 lb lighter and perform better in nearly every way. Plus you can try it out in person and make sure it fits you.
