It's a Pop-Tart, not a protein bar. Its target is those who don't have any issue eating all this sugar but want to add protein to their sugary diets. I see it as a win for the gamer community.

This is my emergency food.

These things will last 3-5 years in the garage. While the macros may be terrible, this is a great addition for another potential source of protein in an emergency.

In for a case.

Also want to throw in that the quality of protein is pretty poor. Milk protein concentrate and wheat protein.
10g of whey protein isolate is 20% DV for protein and this 10g's lack of bioavailability puts it at 11% DV.

Is it shelf stable for 3-5 years? My mom throws away ramen or canned food if it's expired which I've never paid attention to or gotten sick from eating it

While I agree and thank you for the break down for those of us (like me) that follow a protein to calorie ratio, they'll be great for my kiddo that has safe foods with Pop-Tarts being one of them.

Yes. The expiration date for these foods with a lot of preservatives is a definite suggestion. I've eaten these plenty of times even after expiration of 3-5 years.

Ramen doesn't last forever but at a minimum 5-ish years after expiration

After 10 years it gets a chemical-like smell. Had a pack in my garage that I forgot about and that's how I know. It wasn't moldy or anything tho just a strong chemical like smell.
