I've been pretty happy with my EGO tools. The battery ecosystem is excellent, and not having to deal with gas, oil, or pull starts makes yard work so much easier.

I got this on clearance from Lowe's last year and like it. It's powerful and the battery is a nice upgrade over my black&decker 20v that took two batteries to trim my yard. I picked up a couple of spools of 0.095 line from Wally World clearance for cheap. And have had mixed results with the auto loader. Sometimes it overlaps the line so it has trouble automatically feeding out, but for the most part it's nice. Telescoping was nice for when I use it vs when my son uses it since he's a foot shorter than me. I think I paid $165 for it and at this price it's a deal imo, especially if you're in this ecosystem (I'm not but may expand into it)

is that supposed to be lighter or something? I have the model that's on sale and it's not heavy to use for me at all.

It's only .2 lbs lighter but also cuts an extra inch wider.

Correct, monkeybiz. I tried loading manually on my B&D and it was a pain, ended up buying the 3 pack of 3spools and using those. For this, I think it does work well, 1 of 3 loads I had to unload a few feet and redo it because it overlapped and the string couldn't feed out. They sell precut line and I think it is 13' or 14', I just cut a length that long from the clearance spool I bought and use that. It may be a learning curve and keeping a little tension on the line seemed to help my last load (had my kid hold the ends while it loaded) but that is a subjective test.

yes, another variable is string type, I use "edgy" cutting string that is probably not as slick to operate without jamming. It is tempting to overload the spool easily, safer to load shorter runs more often.

I've always had trouble manually loading line on my Ryobi and even if I buy the fancier line it still breaks easily. I'm using Husqvarna titanium force now and not too impressed. What I noticed is that it was better when it was new but after storing it in the hot shed, I think it weakened the line. I'm keeping the line in the basement from now on. The details on this trimmer looked like loading line was a breeze is why I asked: "Patented powerload technology: just feed the line through the trimmer head of the cordless weed wacker, push a button to automatically wind the trimmer line, and get back to work in seconds."
