This DeWalt XR 20 volt Max oscillating multi tool kit is a handy all around cutter and scraper, and the bundle is being treated as a solid price for the older DCS356 model. The tool is described as especially useful once a job calls for it, and blade changes can be annoying enough that having a second setup makes sense for bigger projects. Battery ecosystem matters here, since the included battery is useful if you already run DeWalt tools. The main caveat is that it is the older model, with the newer DCS359 called out for less vibration, a brighter LED, and faster cutting.
The deal price can match prior purchase pricing, which makes the current cost feel consistent over time.
The older DCS356 model can still be a solid buy when it is being cleared out for cheaper pricing.
The kit can be a useful addition for jobs that require oscillating access you only notice after starting a project.
The included battery and charger setup can help expand a DeWalt battery ecosystem for powering other DeWalt tools.
The $259 regular price can feel overstated compared with the deal price.
The kit is for the older DCS356 model, and the newer DCS359 is described as having less vibration and a brighter LED.
Switching blades can be annoying when a job requires different blades at the same time.
The item can be out of stock and may show a higher price on other retailers like Lowe's.

I think they're clearing these (DCS356) out for cheap because they just released the new ones. The DCS359 looks much better: less vibration, bright LED, faster cutting, 4th speed selector. Initial reviews are pretty good, especially on the vibration.

I'm a Milwaukee guy but I could use this kit but really want the battery. Use the battery on DeWalt Garbo and have an extra Multitool
