Otherwise I'm waiting for Black Friday where I'd imagine you'll see around $175 or better.
Also considering moving over to simply good coffee since they have a plastic free brewer.

I bought my KBGV for $170 in July 2025 on Amazon.
Thermal carafe's require pre-heating with hot water or you have the opposite issue in that they sap too much heat from the coffee. They also can impart metallic flavors. Harder to clean.
It's really best to choose based on your use-case. If you usually drink it immediately upon brewing, glass is better. If you want it to last awhile, the thermal carafe is probably better.
The hot plates don't immediately scorch and you can turn it on/off. You have some time before bad things happen, just not a ton. An hour later you're definitely able to tell it's been on the hot plate. 15 minutes or so though, it'll be very little to no different than freshly brewed.
Most coffee snobs that bother with drip coffee prefer glass.
