Walmart app is popping up when I scroll this app

Same thing here. I could see accidently fat fingering something a few times but it's never a post, always an ad that opens. Feels scummy.

I'm sorry to hear that sounds pretty frustrating. Can you provide more information about what may be triggering the issue to help the devs/ad team squash it?

The app has been doing this to me for a few weeks. And I've given up. It seems as tho ads can now trigger a script to launch the ads app or play store if you are missing said app when you hover over the ad. Aliexpress was first, it's a lot. Now temu and Walmart. This is me announcing my departure from the app. Hopefully brave will help, unfortunately slickdeals will no longer receive ad revenue from me.

Ads (Walmart, Alibaba and Temu) when scrolled though with a finger on it, doesn't matter how delicate the scroll is, triggers a popup/app deeplinking. Very annoying. If you leave the ad area alone, no issues. This is not fat finger case as I have successfully managed to trigger the popup by carefully scrolling though gently without clicking the ads. I am not using this app until this it's is resolved

This is 100% correct. You cannot touch the large ads at all to scroll....because the initial touch opens the ad now, not just the touch/release. they need to fix this "issue".

I can't imagine their ad affiliates would appreciate this if they are paying per click. This wasn't an accident, seems disingenuous.

Thanks for the feedback and extra info. I know it's frustrating. From what I understand the mobile/ad team has been digging into this all week so hopefully they'll be able to squash this sooner rather than later.

nope, not just you, unfortunately. I merged your thread into the existing one on the issue so you can follow any updates. The devs/ad team are working on it but not sure how long it's gonna take to get it in check. Thanks for the report and sorry for the inconvenience!

It either stopped for me for a while or I just got lucky on not touching but it's back now. It feels like if there's a Walmart ad in the feed, the app opens.

This is on purpose. It's a big Walmart ad embedded in the scroll... as you naturally scroll it is one of the (large) squares as opposed to a thread. Then your natural scroll is taken as a click through to none other than Walmart. I close it quick enough but is annoying and must be on purpose.

It's driving me CRAZY. The Walmart app opens even before I see the actual ad. And even if you're touching & scrolling on where the ad eventually pops up and just swiping, it still opens. Every. Time.

Stop it!!!!!!!!
