Edited: I bought a similar fan with heat function (previously made a comment and assumed they're the same model, mb!)

it sounds like a plane when at the highest setting. much louder than other bladeless dc motor fans but if you prefer a horizontal sheet of air, this is one of the few fans that can do that.

They are lazy and did not want to help. If it's less than 5 (sometimes 10) years old, Vornado will replace it. Call the number or chat with a different agent. Rattling/squeeking is a motor issue that is immediately warrantied as they dont expect you to service the motor if you do not want to or cant. Best value for fans right now is the Vornado box fan for $30-40 in warehouse or $65-70 online for the DC brushless model (quieter/more energy efficient) found everywhere OUTSIDE of Costco

I got this from costco, it works well, low settings are low but also pretty quiet, once you get up to the higher settings its fairly loud, but works well as a white noise machine if you want to sleep with it at the highest setting.

Woot! has had the refurbished version for around $129. Picked one up for $80 and these are honestly great fans, but not sure I would spend over $100 for it. Only complaint is that they make a jet engine noise the higher you crank them up.

Bought one last year and returned a weak later. Too loud and the vents are manual. Purchased the Dreo instead, and been satisfied.
