The technique commonly used in parts of Asia and South Asia involves cooking rice in a much larger amount of water; about twice as much as you would use in a typical rice cooker. The rice is cooked in a regular pot until it's about 90% done, then the excess water, which contains most of the released starch, is drained off. After that, the rice is left to finish cooking over low heat until the remaining moisture evaporates.

I believe that's the technique they're trying to replicate here.

A simple way to reduce the glycemic index of rice is to freeze cooked rice and reheat it to eat. Freezing carbohydrates, including breads, converts some of the simple carbohydrates into resistant starch, i.e. starch that isn't readily absorbed in the small intestine and therefore doesn't spike blood sugar as badly.

I wonder if they are using the Coconut oil and cooling method to reduce them.

This can be done with a normal rice cooker, the key is cooling the rice after cooking it with a small amount of coconut oil. There's medical studies that back this method up. The calories don't disappear from the food, but become resistant to digestion AFAIK.

Interesting - will read on it - but it would sound like it's delaying the glyemic load, not removing it altogether... like eating proteins/fats ahead of crabs to slow absorption.

Ceramic nonstick coatings do not contain Teflon or other fluoropolymers.

The carb reducing technology isn't rocket science, it just removes the starch.

I've been using a GreenPan one for a bit. I don't taste a difference in the resulting rice so why not have it be healthier.

And it's legit.
