I wonder if they are using the Coconut oil and cooling method to reduce them.

This can be done with a normal rice cooker, the key is cooling the rice after cooking it with a small amount of coconut oil. There's medical studies that back this method up. The calories don't disappear from the food, but become resistant to digestion AFAIK.

Interesting - will read on it - but it would sound like it's delaying the glyemic load, not removing it altogether... like eating proteins/fats ahead of crabs to slow absorption.

A simple way to reduce the glycemic index of rice is to freeze cooked rice and reheat it to eat. Freezing carbohydrates, including breads, converts some of the simple carbohydrates into resistant starch, i.e. starch that isn't readily absorbed in the small intestine and therefore doesn't spike blood sugar as badly.
Is it freezing or just refrigerated

Even better if you don't reheat, though most people don't like cold rice.

And where exactly are the carbs going? Vanishes into steam? I think this is marketing bullshit
there is a video on the product link.
basically the extra carb with water is drained from rice during cooking.

i am actually interested in this product, too bad it is not available for my zip code.

just eat less rice if you want less calories/starch

Ceramic nonstick coatings do not contain Teflon or other fluoropolymers.

Rinsing the starch off by polishing the rice with water probably does most of what this thing is trying to accomplish

The carb reducing technology isn't rocket science, it just removes the starch.

I've been using a GreenPan one for a bit. I don't taste a difference in the resulting rice so why not have it be healthier.

And it's legit.
