I'd argue that PETG prints the same as PLA in a good printer like this one.. Seeing as PETG is superior in almost every way to PLA aside from rigidity I tend to point people towards PETG so they can have durable outdoor prints which survive summer heat etc

PETG isn't necessarily superior to PLA. Aside from the rigidity, PLA also has higher strength and layer adhesion. Also PLA+, which can be had at around PLA and PETG prices, and prints easier than PETG, is superior to PETG in just about every way aside from temperature resistance and UV resistance. If it's not going to be in the sun or a hot car, PLA+ is generally superior. A PLA+ part cracks when it fails, while a PETG part splinters and explodes. ASA is far superior to PETG for temperature and UV resistance (it's what commercial outdoor parts are made from), but it needs an enclosure to print and is a little trickier to print than PETG.

It's a good deal, but Aliexpress does not honor its guarantees so if the package gets lost, or damaged, you're screwed. Their support will run you in circles and continuously move the line of what you have to do to get your money back. I would not risk $200+ for this.

And if you're thinking you can just do a chargeback - great if you never got it delivered - but if it's delivered and damaged your credit card may require you to ship it back to China at your expense, which can easily be the cost of this printer.

I was misrembering about layer adhesion, but PLA DOES have higher tensile strength than PETG. PETG only has higher strength when isolating the z-axis due to the superior layer adhesion. If the model can take advantage of only isolating the force on the z-axis, it's superior, but not otherwise. PLA+ also has far higher sharpy impact strength than PETG. It's why it's the standard in the FOSSCAD community and PETG is considered the most dangerous due to its poor impact resistance where it experiences explosive failure (glassy shattering), where it fails catastrophically, shattering into sharp, dangerous shards. PLA+ just cracks safely due to its impact modifiers. PCTG is great as well, but it doesn't have anywhere near the UV and temp resistance of ASA.
