FYI, I haven't had a great experience with this tool. Basic loppers work better for small branches (1 second to lop vs. like 20-30 to cut with this), and it doesn't have the power to cut through larger ones that loppers can't handle. I even got 5Ah batteries to see if they'd work better than the 3Ah ones I already had, and they do, a little bit, but it still takes like 5-10 minutes to cut through a 2" branch. The ancient (50+ years old AFAIK) Craftsman chainsaw I inherited from my grandparents works much better once I manage to get it started.

10 minutes for 2 inches? Thats crazy. I have essentially the same battery one but craftsman and it will definitely take down a 8-10 inch tree pretty easily

I have this saw and while it isn't the fastest. I use it to cut through 1" - 8" branches regularly with out issue. One thing I like about it is it is light weight making it easy to run through a bunch of branches without breaking a sweat.

I can only guess you need to get a new blade, sharpen the one you have, grease the bar, adjust the blade tension or clean out behind the cover. There is no way it should be cutting like that.

Cutting through a 2" branch should not take long enough for you to bother keeping track. Check to make sure the chain is not on backwards. It bet it got flipped around at the factory and you are cutting with the back side rather than the sharp side.

I bought a Dewalt DCCS620 12" chainsaw (barstool a year or so ago (for $99 if I recall correctly). I was skeptical but after cutting down an 18" diameter Aspen this spring I am quite impressed. Cut up everything, all branches & logs into ~16" lengths. Easy to handle on a ladder & light weight. It was equally impressive that I ran it with my 2011 dewalt 3ah batteries without issue. I have a Farm Boss Stihl that I've had for 2 decades & while I love it, this definitely has a place.
Only downside is the constant leaking of bar oil….

It took me 3 years to cut through a 4" branch.

I had this. Got it for $100 at Murdoch's. I couldn't keep up with my friend's Ryobi. I sold it and bought a Ryobi. I also have the 60V I got for $180-200 at Murdoch's, but it's still sitting in the box in storage.

I bought he previous model - DCCS620 - in November, and am half regretting my decision. True, it was super cheap, as HD was clearing out inventory, but the over-oiling issue on it (mine, anyway) is completely insane. It drools oil. And, no, it's not an "every chainsaw leaks oil" issue. It's the interior oiling mechanism that is garbage, and leaks enough oil to leave smears of the stuff all over cuts. Anyway, the thing is perfectly able to cut whatever I need - I took down an 8-10" tree with some time and effort, so I can't fault its effectiveness; just its messiness.

So, my question is - and anyone can search for and easily find complaints about the oiling issue, even if my experience is on the extreme side - that I'd read that the 621 update was supposed to fix the oil issue. So did it?

I agree the chain saw leaks oil. Just lay it on it side with the oil cap facing upward when not using. No leaks.

Electric chainsaws last for about a single tree of moderate thickness on a single charge. I have had a few trees needing to be cut down that required more than one charge. This chainsaw is junk. Chainsaws and lawnmowers should be gas.

I had this specific chainsaw, FYI. I bought into the Dewalt ecosystem, so it was only natural. I returned it after one tree and decided I'd rather use my axe and bow saw than suffer through this POS.
