If only there was a place these kinds of questions could be asked. Oh well, I guess we'll never know!

For the record, it doesn't have duplex scanning.

Thanks for posting this OP Smilie ... I don't own this particular printer but one issue with wireless printers that I see frequently come up - and the fix for it - is to connect the printer via a usb cable during the initial setup and after that rely on the wireless connection.. which sounds crazy I know but for some people it's the only way they can get a wireless printer up and running and looks like it does support usb connectivity too (plus if wireless just flat out refuses to cooperate for some reason you have a backup option if necessary) ... maybe order an (extra long if need be) printer usb cable to go with it?

I have a predecessor model that I got refurbished from Brother for this price. It's been flawless and reliable. It feels like it's as close to "buy it for life" as a printer gets.

does this model use toners with the chips that prevent you from using aftermarket ones from amazon?

FWIW, I have a brother laser for my house and my mothers house. They've only ever been used wirelessly and I've never connected to them any other way. I've experienced zero issues.
