I believe this deal is just like the deal for the Moto Pad 2026.
You have to be an existing customer of Metro by T-Mobile.

You can add a new tablet plan ($20 minimum monthly fee) and get the Galaxy Tab A11+ for $49.99.

I did the Moto 2026 Pad deal with Metro by Mobile earlier this year. I wa \s able to cancel the plan by calling customer service before getting billed for a 2nd month.

The Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G is being treated as the stronger Samsung option for people who want a budget tablet with better processor performance and long software support. It is also described as a solid upgrade from the A9+ 5G, with working Metro and T Mobile activation, 5G UC, and a cleaner path to later unlock or firmware changes. The main tradeoff is the 1080p display and 6 GB of RAM versus the Moto Pad 2026, which has a sharper screen and more memory. Deal availability also appears unstable, with the advertised price sometimes showing higher or going out of stock.

Common Questions (5)

  • The Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G has the better processor and longer software-update support, while the Moto Pad 2026 has a sharper 2K/2.5K display and 8 GB RAM versus Samsung's 6 GB. The better pick depends on whether you value performance and updates or screen resolution and memory.

  • Activation can sometimes be started from the email link before the device is in hand, and one activation attempt sent an SMS to the arriving tablet. A newer limitation is that online account activation may require an SMS code sent to the new phone, which can block the old workaround.

  • The tablet can remain locked for a long period and later network-unlock from settings after about a year. A practical workaround is to activate the Metro SIM, use it briefly, then later try the unlock from settings after the service period has passed.

  • The advertised $49.99 price appears to be gone and the deal now shows $100 for some shoppers. Availability also seems to fluctuate, with some seeing it out of stock.

  • Cancellation was completed by calling customer service, since an online cancel option was not easy to find. Online chat with a rep may also work, but the rep may try to keep the line active.

So you changed csc using SamFw? Did you just let it do OTA updates?
Yes I did it with samfw tool. I didn't update from ota. I flash the xaa firmware on my last step.

So are you not activating the Metro sim at all ? I thought you have to activate it to start the 365 day countdownI have an A9+ 5G and inserted a t-mo data sim on first boot but I forget if I activated the Metro sim on it afterwards. It still followed Metro's unlock policy and not T-Mobile's
Like what lou2004 said, I do have the metro line activated by clicking on the email.

I did install the tmobile sim upon first boot so it loaded all tmobile bloatware. Every time I restart the tablet, I get a notification saying that my metro eSIM is ready to activate, which I have been dismissing lol

Do I need to call customer service to cancel the tablet line, or can I just stop paying after the first month expires?

I ordered it last night. Tried retail me because it says sitewide and is not restricted to new customers.

How is it running with XAA?

I just got it , installed TMO sim. (I am not using the TMO sim in phone because I use it for internet service), I also activated the Metro sim , it asked me to reboot to change carrier configuration to Metro and I said no. Now that I removed the TMO sim it might force it anyway . I will keep the Metro sim active until the month of service ends. Then I will turn it off and perhaps flash XAA. Ehhh, its forcing the restart now. I should have disabled CIDManager process before turning off sim.I may put on airplane mode and flash the XAA now.

This is the one I am going to flash update X238U1 BZG2

I got it working. Had to use regular CSC instead of Home CSC because kept failing.
Also had to disable CIDManager

Metro sim is active , hoping the change does not affect unlock in a year because XAA removes the lock status from the settings

Just reflash T-Mobile/Metro firmware for unlock.

I currently see this deal is "free" (pay taxes on full retail price(maybe?) + $20 tablet line). But it's OOS for me, anyone else? Has it been going in and out of stock?

For the Moto Pad deal (IMO less slick) it also says they will charge taxes on full retail price, but when I go to checkout it's only taxes on the $50, thankfully.
