Ticks a lot of boxes on containing modern. mid-to-high end parts, and OLED panel (only 60hz unfortunately). Under $800 for OB Excellent seems like a great deal if you're on a budget. Keep in mind that your warranty on ASUS open-box is whatever is left from the original purchaser. May just be a few months or none at all, in which case you deal with BestBuy for service. I'm not positive, but once the ASUS warranty is gone, you may have to pay BB a fee for a "warranty" repair.

Excellent with 677$ right now I think it's a good deal though I'd prefer more storage like 1T

I'll close to buying but is this machine reliable? I have a MacBook to sell to make up the cost.

I bought two for my employees. The aluminum is a little thin, but good enough. Screen, keyboard, and trackpad are very impressive. Computer is a little filled with bloatware to start. If you can do a wipe with Mint and you will have an amazing matching. If you need windows I would still do a Rufus wipe, but you will need to reinstall the WiFi driver manually.

Would you replace a MacBook with this?

You mean the 14" A14 or the 16" A16? The A14 doesn't come with 48GB RAM, just the A16. I can't see the A16 going under $1200 for new.
It seems BB had gotten rid of the $1699 SKU for the X2E-94-100 version and only has the X2E-96-100 version for $1999 or the X2-94-100 with 512GB SSD for $1899. Prices have definitely risen on these.

16-inch and it was $1499 for the 1TB/48GB variant but was OOO at BB (was cheaper than the 512GB variant that was $1799 for some reason). However, it is back to a higher price right now.

Curious when you remember the 1TB/48GB A16 being $1499 new at BB? It intro'd at $1599 then went up to $1699 and I searched Slickdeals and didn't see any deal like you mention.

It was not posted here. I was just wandering on BB perhaps 3 weeks ago when I saw it (but was grayed out for checkout, only 512GB variant was available and was more expensive than 1TB version). A16 (48GB) is the only one that excites me from the current X2E batch out there.

I agree. I wish the A14 was closer in specs to the A16 instead of being so different. I also wish other manufacturers would use the X2E-94-100...the Asus A16 is the only laptop to use either of the top two Snapdragon X2 chips.

Imagine an A14 with 48GB RAM and 120Hz 2.8K OLED panel with the X2E-94-100?!
