Don't do it. The Arzopa 2.5k resolution goes on sale for $105 on a regular basis and is extremely more useful. .

I really want to see more 2.5k portable monitor deals. 1080p is just too low resolution for me.

PPI actually matters a lot here. Higher PPI means smaller pixels, which gives much smoother, sharper text.

15.6" at 1080p (141 PPI): When sitting close, I can easily spot the jagged edges on text, and honestly, it just doesn't look great.
27" at 4K (163 PPI): Definitely sharper, especially since you naturally sit a bit further back from a big desktop screen.
16" at 2560×1600 (188 PPI): Text will look way cleaner.

My daily drivers are 2x 4k 27" monitor and Surface Pro (267 PPI).

If you're worried high PPI will make everything look small, just use display scale. Running a 27" 4K monitor at 150% scale is pretty much the sweet spot for crisp, perfectly sized text. For my Surface Pro, I need to use 200% scale.

I'm old too to the point where I'm going to need reading glasses soon but see what other people wrote. Lots of apps also don't scale well to 1080. 2k and above have been so much more useful for when I travel and have to work. I bought a 1080p one first and it sits in a drawer.

Love these added screens as they fit in the bag really well for travel. Cheaper ones out there but Asus is a name worth the money. Been buying their offerings for literally decades and have never had an issue with any of them. Thx!

You probably need a large screen tablet then. I was having similar issues and also got a portable monitor and had the same problem. I then got a 14" tablet and since you can zoom on certain small print it has been great.
