The 5 3/8" saw has its use cases and I like grabbing it for small tasks, but I would be disappointed using it as my only saw. The Daily Deal also has a 6 1/2 M18 Fuel saw with (1) 5AH battery for $199. That would be a better all around saw, although only (1) battery and no charger.

They also have the 6 1/2 M18 Saw Only for $229 with a free impact drill, so if you can pull off the hack and return the drill, the saw would be $130.

This Milwaukee M12 Fuel kit stands out as a compact, lightweight circular saw bundle with strong battery value. The included M12 batteries and charger are treated as a big part of the appeal, and the saw itself is praised for easy handling, tight-space cuts, quick around-the-house jobs, and small demo work. It also works well for light tasks like flooring, scabs, and backing boards. The main drawback is cutting power, since thicker 2x lumber, 3 4 plywood rips, and angled or deeper cuts can bog it down. A good fit if you want portability more than full-size saw muscle.
The brushless 5-3/8 in saw is praised for being light and compact, which helps it handle tight spaces and quick around-the-house cuts.
The kit can deliver strong practical value because the included M12 batteries and charger are described as being about $100 during blowout sales.
The saw can work well for small demo tasks and quick plywood or 2x cuts when the job matches its smaller 5-3/8 in class.
The batteries can be resold on Facebook Marketplace for roughly $100, which can improve the kit's effective cost.
The saw can feel underpowered and may bog down easily when cutting 2x4 lumber.
The saw can struggle with thicker or denser materials like 2x lumber and even LP smart siding, making it a poor choice for general use.
The saw may perform poorly for a 3/4 in plywood rip and 2x material, with some experiences described as miserable.
The Home Depot listing text may contain a copy-and-paste compatibility error by claiming M18 REDLITHIUM battery pack support.
