Not yet. They have committed contracts with the hyperscalers and AI companies for a couple years even if things start to falter. Plus OpenAI and Anthropic will have their IPOs which will probably be close to $1T of money from investors regardless if the investors lose all their money.

Are you sure that was the 4TB? I've only seen 2TB in the $100 to $200 range.
It was $200 somewhere just a bit before prices went nuts. And that wasn't a price that sold out in a few minutes. It was that price for at least a day. I know because I thought about it multiple times but didn't buy one đź« .

Very solid deal territory that people actually had a reasonable shot at taking advantage of was ~$250 for one performance tier up (4TB SN850X / 990 Pro). Very solid deals for this tier without DRAM were between $200-$225. That was the state of things for a year or two.

The AI spend slowdown that's coming is going to kill these prices. A few weeks? No check back 6 months from now

Only if by "about to" you mean "early 2030s"...

I would need to see proof on this claim. According to IT news, AI is not slowing down any time soon.

These prices are not dropping any time soon.

Besides this is dead now anyway.

There is no proof.. this is my own analysis based on market fluctuations in addition to historical price behavior. For an example look at how lumber, cocoa, or any metals have behaved. They don't just have a small price relief after these surges, they collapse

July 2025, the price was around $235 according to Keepa.
wow. will we see that price again, is the question then. I must've slept on that because I've been dying to upgrade my 2tb to 4tb for a while now.

I thought about delayed shipping but decided against it in case they cancel. Mine already shipped.
I needed this - but I wonder if it'll ever get back to the $235 that VioletFaucet131 quoted.
