This Latitude 7440 refurb stands out as a lightweight business laptop with strong specs for office work, school, and light gaming. The i5 1345U, 16GB or 32GB RAM, and fast SSD make it feel far above a Chromebook, and the 2.93 pound chassis plus optional 400 nit touch or non touch panels add to the appeal. Several serial number checks also pointed to a 57Wh battery and 5MP IR camera. The main caution is Grade B cosmetics and possible battery wear, while display type and touch support can vary, so checking the exact serial number matters.

  • Business laptop buyers who want a lightweight work machine, because the Latitude line has a strong track record for years of reliable use.

    Cheapguy93SensibleStar7876Cheapguy93

  • Students needing a durable school laptop, because the build feels sturdier than a Chromebook and can handle everyday school work.

    CrimsonShape4878FaithfulActivity954

  • Power users who want a workstation-style touchscreen, because the panel is described as really nice and the 32GB dual-channel setup supports Intel Xe graphics.

    UncleRunkleAnanke

  • Office workers who mainly need productivity apps, because the processor class is described as great for office stuff.

    bluee1457

  • Buyers who want pristine cosmetic grading, because Grade B units can show scratches, dings, dust under keycaps, or internal wear.

    PowerfulName4771UncleRunkleLibertyPrimeiceee

  • Shoppers who need a guaranteed bright display, because the screen can vary from 250 to 400 nits and the listing may not clearly identify which panel you get.

    whenry83LibertyPrime

  • People expecting a fully upgradable laptop, because the RAM is soldered directly to the motherboard.

    jacob2012UncleRunkle

  • Gamers wanting consistent high frame rates, because the integrated graphics are described as weak for video and game performance depends heavily on the title.

It is still available. I have just cancelled my order, and replaced one with the extra year warranty. One needs to factor in the coupon when looking at the B vs A differences.
Coupon works on both A and B grade

I ordered 2 grade B one with warranty and one without. I looked up for the CC warranty and CSP clearly mentions that used/refurbs are not covered under the extended warranty through them. worth checking before setting expectations.
FYI I used my AMEX Plat, and looked at their Extended Warranty Info ...

"NO COVERAGE IS PROVIDED FOR: (CONTINUED)
4. one-of-a-kind items including antique, artwork, furs, or previously owned and used
items (except when refurbished by the original manufacturer); "

I ordered my Grade B and it has the same config as what others mentioned. Walmart info on the Latitude 7440:

2 x Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with PowerShare, USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, HDMI 2.0 port, Universal audio port

I made the order for a B grade yesterday, in my order details online Dell provided a unit serial number, using the Dell support website, I was able to enter the serial number and it identified a Latitude 7440 unit with the 3 cell 57Whr (bigger battery config) and the screen as the IPS non-touch comfortview 400NITs screen. Not sure if all the the refurbed stock units will have this config but it was a nice surprise to see it, assuming it is accurate. For those who ordered and are wondering if you can try the Dell support website and enter the unit serial number in your order.
So no touchscreen, right? OP should update that.

Grade B is supposed to be pretty bad. These are likely 3-4 years used laptops, which are now off-lease. In some case people also get machines where parts have been replaced internally.
Sorry but isn't this the definition of refurbished?

Good find! Based on that I went ahead and put in another order for a B grade. The serial number I was given also got a bigger 57wH battery, 400 nit display, and the 5 MP IR camera.
I also ordered a B grade yesterday and checking my serial number that Dell sent me my laptop also has the bigger 57wH battery, 400 nit display, and 5 MP IR camera provided the information is accurate. I also just received Fed Ex shipping information from Dell as I ordered mine yesterday morning, so they are shipping quickly for customers who ordered Tuesday 8/3.

Dell also emailed me the S/N , I used it to look up the current warranty, and it came back active service plan. I submitted a request to transfer the plan to my name. I'll let you know if that works.
Mine has active service plan, too. How do you request to transfer the plan to your name? I'd like to do the same.

Your specific credit card needs to offer 'extended warranty ' benefit
A lot of "extended warranty" benefits on credit cards do not cover used or refurbished product. It is only for brand new product.

It doesn't seem Dell is very confident on the reliability of these with only a 100 day warranty. Even the Dell Outlet (refurbs but not as old) offers same as new warranty.
