Community Reviews

This Latitude 7440 refurb stands out as a lightweight business laptop with strong specs for office work, school, and light gaming. The i5 1345U, 16GB or 32GB RAM, and fast SSD make it feel far above a Chromebook, and the 2.93 pound chassis plus optional 400 nit touch or non touch panels add to the appeal. Several serial number checks also pointed to a 57Wh battery and 5MP IR camera. The main caution is Grade B cosmetics and possible battery wear, while display type and touch support can vary, so checking the exact serial number matters.

Thanks for sharing the information. For extended warranty, does it work with any, or any specific, credit card?
Your specific credit card needs to offer 'extended warranty ' benefit

Not a computer expert. Would this be good for a high school student who dabbles in programming and plays few video games. I understand it doesn't have a high performance graphics card? Will it be able to work for a few years (if they take care of it) Is there something I need to look out for? Asking the computer wiz's on here.
This is great for doing office stuff. Gaming wise you need to ask your child what games they play. Then google "1365u [game title]". There will be lot of benchmark videos that show how much fps(frames per second) you can get out of this processor (how smooth can this machine run the game, higher is better, above 60 frames per second is preferred).

I've had good luck with the two refurbished dell latitude I bought in the pass few years. A Dell Latitude 5491 with I5 8400h 16gb ram and a Dell Latitude 5420 I7 1185g7 32gb ram. I have had both of them for years and still work good. They were both rated A when I bought them.

Does this have Intel Xe Graphics? Is the RAM dual channel? It seems it might be a single 32 GB module.

Says 1x32GB but it's soldered dual channel 32GB. Should support Intel Xe graphics

That can happen on new laptops too. I have 2 MSI laptops that are now just over 10 months old that the batteries died, 3 days apart. Now I have to do the MSI tech support dance, which isnt fun.
Do the monkey!

Has anyone been disappointed with their B grade laptop from this deal, or with any other Dell B grade deal?

It appears this laptop has multiple types of displays which could range from 250 nits to 400 nits. I initially made a purchase but decided to cancel because the description wasn't clear enough on which you'd be getting. To me it wasn't worth the gamble, just to receive a 250 nit panel then go through the headache of returning it and paying the restocking fee.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I made the order for a B grade yesterday, in my order details online Dell provided a unit serial number, using the Dell support website, I was able to enter the serial number and it identified a Latitude 7440 unit with the 3 cell 57Whr (bigger battery config) and the screen as the IPS non-touch comfortview 400NITs screen. Not sure if all the the refurbed stock units will have this config but it was a nice surprise to see it, assuming it is accurate. For those who ordered and are wondering if you can try the Dell support website and enter the unit serial number in your order.

Got one with extended warranty, plus paid using my Chase United Club card with another year.of warranty
It appears Chase United Explorer card also offers extended warranty, and you do not need to buy the extra year of warranty to get it. So just using the cards, you automatically get 1 yr + 100 days warranty. Correct me if I was inaccurate.

The touchscreen on the Lattitude is the same as the one Dell uses on Precision models, i.e. it is really nice. Essentially, that config you get a workstation class config in the Latitude chassis. This is a very good deal, I have used both models for work. 32GB dual channel is nice to have. These machines are priced around 2 grands new.
