ScAM ALERT: the last deal recently for a free cookie did not happen in my major city. One place said it was "free with purchase" even though the posting said free without purchase and the other place said they were not participating. I wasted time and gas. Don't get taken.

I'm not sure if I would call it a scam but based on my experience with these kinds of offers I do believe some of the franchisees don't like to cooperate with these national promos. I've done one or two of the free cookie promos where they were out of the promotional ones and didn't seem too concerned.
