The budget Galaxy Tab A11+ also has only 6GB of memory, 128GB storage, lower resolution, different display type and costs $250 as of now. Comparing apples to avocados.

Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for note taking, reading, and media on its sharp 2.5K IPS screen with active stylus support. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, along with 2 major Android updates and 4 years of security updates, make it feel well equipped for school use. The display is described as brighter than expected at 800 nits, and the 3.5mm jack is a handy bonus. The main tradeoff is the Dimensity 6300 class processor, which trails faster rivals and may matter for heavier multitasking. It fits best as a practical classroom tablet with strong screen value.

  • College note-takers who read PDFs and handwrite lecture notes, because the 2.5K display stays crisp and the tablet supports an active stylus.

    John0316

  • Students who want a clean Android tablet for browser tabs, textbook PDFs, and video lectures, because it handles everyday use smoothly without bloat.

    John0316

  • Readers who spend time on a bright LCD in dark rooms, because the screen is praised for reducing eye strain compared with OLED PWM.

    crashsoul520

  • Families using a tablet for streaming and a nanny cam, because it can play YouTube at highest quality and includes a 3.5mm jack for quiet listening.

    osmkv

  • Power users who need the fastest budget tablet, because the processor is slower than the Galaxy Tab A11+ and only slightly ahead of the 6300.

    thund3rcatNervousOctopus8147

  • Tablet buyers who want long software support, because the official update cycle is shorter than Samsung's.

    John0316sv0s

  • Artists or note-takers who require stylus support, because a tablet without active pen compatibility is an easy pass.

    sv0sJohn0316

  • People who need lots of local app storage, because 128GB can be a deal breaker when apps must stay on-device.

128GB is an absolute deal breaker for me and others. There is no substitute for local storage when it comes to apps.
If 128gb isn't enough app storage, then you're using more apps than 99.9% of users.

..and far less bloatware, and of course, Samsung's memory hungry One UI

The process is 6300 vs 6400. 6400 is only slightly better than 6300.
I have the Moto Pad 2026 which is a rebranded version of this Lenovo Idea Tab.

- The Dimensity 6300 is plenty fast, especially with 8gb of RAM.
- The screen is hands down better than any Samsung Tab A series.

Recently I purchased 8.8 inch y700 gen5 and 12.7 inch ideal tab pro gen1 to substitute my stupid OLED iPad pro M4. They are really a game changer. Lenovo has the best eye protect LCD screen in the world, unlike OLED PWM which kills your eye especially under a dark environment. You can use ADB tool and RAM expansion to make them even faster and smoother. I will switch the gen1 to gen3 next year. I really like using 13inch screen with 16:10 Ratio to read Annie and 8.8 screen to replace my iPhone 16 pro, they are fantastic!
