The budget Galaxy Tab A11+ also has only 6GB of memory, 128GB storage, lower resolution, different display type and costs $250 as of now. Comparing apples to avocados.

Lenovo Idea Tab is a budget 11 inch Android tablet that stands out for note taking, reading, and media on its sharp 2.5K IPS screen with active stylus support. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, along with 2 major Android updates and 4 years of security updates, make it feel well equipped for school use. The display is described as brighter than expected at 800 nits, and the 3.5mm jack is a handy bonus. The main tradeoff is the Dimensity 6300 class processor, which trails faster rivals and may matter for heavier multitasking. It fits best as a practical classroom tablet with strong screen value.

Common Questions (5)

  • The Dimensity 6300 is described as plenty fast for everyday tasks when paired with 8GB RAM, but it is still slower than the budget Galaxy Tab A11+ and far behind Lenovo listings with a Dimensity 8300. It should handle browsing, PDFs, and streaming well, but it is not the strongest performer in this price range.

  • The deal thread identifies this model as 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, while a separate Best Buy version is 128GB. 128GB may be limiting if you keep many apps locally, but 256GB plus microSD use is a more comfortable setup for school files and media.

  • It is expected to receive 2 major Android updates and 4 years of security updates. That gives it a longer support window than some budget tablets, though not as long as Samsung's higher-end update promises.

  • Yes. It natively supports an active stylus, which makes it a better fit for handwriting lecture notes and drawing than budget tablets without pen support. The 2.5K display also helps text and PDFs look sharper for reading.

    John0316

  • Yes. It streams YouTube at the highest quality setting smoothly and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is useful for discreet listening. Setup can be annoying because it tries to install apps like Temu and TikTok during first boot.

128GB is an absolute deal breaker for me and others. There is no substitute for local storage when it comes to apps.
If 128gb isn't enough app storage, then you're using more apps than 99.9% of users.

The process is 6300 vs 6400. 6400 is only slightly better than 6300.
I have the Moto Pad 2026 which is a rebranded version of this Lenovo Idea Tab.

- The Dimensity 6300 is plenty fast, especially with 8gb of RAM.
- The screen is hands down better than any Samsung Tab A series.

Recently I purchased 8.8 inch y700 gen5 and 12.7 inch ideal tab pro gen1 to substitute my stupid OLED iPad pro M4. They are really a game changer. Lenovo has the best eye protect LCD screen in the world, unlike OLED PWM which kills your eye especially under a dark environment. You can use ADB tool and RAM expansion to make them even faster and smoother. I will switch the gen1 to gen3 next year. I really like using 13inch screen with 16:10 Ratio to read Annie and 8.8 screen to replace my iPhone 16 pro, they are fantastic!
