Exactly this. Everything private equity buys gets wrecked. Prices go up and value goes down. They squeeze every dollar they can out of the company and then sell it.

I order mine in the app while I'm still at home and take my time driving to pick it up. Whataburger always seem to take 10 or 15 minutes for just about any order. The staff is excellent about putting my food under the heat lamp so it's still hot and tasty. Only downside is the texture of the lettuce suffers but I had no plans to order lettuce anyway due to the recalls.

None of the ones I've eaten at in Dallas have been very good for the last few years. You do get a free Whataburger with purchase of a medium fry and medium drink just by filling out a quick online survey, and every time you redeem that you get a receipt with another survey. Rinse and repeat.

Was curious, so looked at menu on their app. Wrap is a fried chicken strip.
"Signature" is fried filet. ("Premium" adds lettue/tomato.)
