Looks to be a good deal, although it's only 19 seer2. This (dead) deal is similar but for a 21 seer2 rated one for $864. Although that one for some reason doesn't ship to Washington:

24000btu under 1k with free shipping is an amazing deal. This really should be on the front page deal.

24000btu's is enough to keep a 2 car midwest garage cool in the summer. The heat pump will keep it warm in winter as long as it does not drop too far below freezing.

240v is the only downside.

No clue, but all of these off-brand Chinese mini-splits are all basically made by the same two companies. I would consider all of them as disposable as most of the cost of a mini-split is going to be in the install - whether in time if you do it yourself (it ain't rocket surgery) or pay to have it done.

This will be the fourth one I've installed - 2 Pioneers, 1 Gree, and now this.

I was also looking at this "YITAHOME" brand one which has a slightly higher seer rating:

https://www.amazon.com/YITAHOME-P...0H8RC52HW/

But A: The Garvee is about 30 lbs heavier, so I'm associating weight with quality, and B: I've actually heard of Garvee before.

They're pretty much all made by Midea or Gree anyway, unless you spend 2-3x as much for a Mitsubishi.

How easy is it to remove the indoor unit evaporator for cleaning?

I'll let you know when it arrives, hopefully next week. Amazon takes forever to deliver anything to our house - ironically in Washington.

I couldn't find this specific one on their support site, the closest I could find was this one:

https://support.garvee.com/p/PHO_...deType=sku

I'd be happy to scan the manual once mine arrives.

This might be a stupid question but do people normally pay someone to charge these or are pressurized self install tanks used?

There's already a charge in the outside compressor unit. So you mount and plumb everything, vacuum out the lines, and once you're confident nothing is leaking you open the valve on the compressor and it floods the system with coolant. The only caveat is you can't go crazy long with the lines without adding additional coolant, but the lines they come with will be totally fine.

I have a 26x35 (910sqft) metal building with 2" thick closed cell spray foam. I wonder if 24k BTU is enough or if I should go bigger or double up. Either way, seems like a good price. I might hold out for one with a higher SEER2 rating.
