How is this a deal? The Ultra is $1599 at HD and the extra battery is $379 at Wellbots. Thumbs down!

The delta 3 max plus battery is not $379. It is the 2 kWh version which is listed at $849 on their website right now

Truth be told these are mostly just sitting in garages.

Yup, it's FOMO at work. I jumped in on the dji one also and now it's collecting dust, waiting for my camping trip that will be coming "soon" and i'd definitely need it for camping!

I have small ones powering electronics for when we have power outages. I'm basically using them as distributed UPS across my house. One for the main TV, one for the router, one for the window AC unit, etc. I bring them on long car trips to power electronics for the kids. But I find the sweet spot is 200-300 kWh for portability and power.

Could these be used as extra storage for plug-in solar? Storing any excess power generated during the day to be used overnight?

If your power station has Time of Use mode or scheduling you can use it for peak shaving. I have my 4 Solix S2000s set up this way, the fridge ones aren't using the full capacity daily, but my dehumidifier and window AC are. It's around $0.50, but even with conversion losses it's paying for itself in around 4 years. During this time it's also working as a UPS. After then it's just free savings/backup

I have multiple Bluetti's and this is what I use them for, (1) powering Internet modem, hotspot, router, cams at home and secondary home, (2) fridge and freezer UPS, (3) making a new but crappy (company) Dell laptop "portable" because its battery is sh*t, (4) powering a detached garage/shop, (5) powering/recharging tools when I am not driving my Ford Lightning with outlets. And I am about to invest in a 12KW system to backup well pump, waterheater, EV charging, etc. You'd think I live in a cave needing so many backups but reality is I live in DC burb, richest county in MD and in a fairly affluent hood and have frequent brown/black outs every time the wind/snow blows, because county/state never force power companies to bury wires.

I don't hate Ecoflow as I have a Delta Pro but for $2100 a Pecron F5000 with 7200W output and 5KWH battery is a better buy.
