I spent $50 on a decent pair of clippers and have been cutting my own hair for the last 8 years - got better and better at it over time. Now I cut my own hair in 2-3 minutes and end up with a comparable haircut as if I went to a barber.
Last haircut I paid for in Arlington VA (an overpriced Washington, DC suburb) was $25 + tip over 8 years ago.
Saved $3000+ on haircuts to date based on the old price; probably a lot more if calculated in today's highly inflated dollars.

I only use the 3" guard (whole head) and the tapered left/right guards at the temples.
I could never get the back of my head correct.
So when the hair touches my neck (about 3 months), i grab a Great clips coupon and get another skin fade.
My local GC is like 1 mile away and costs $21 (6months ago) so after OP's $5 coupon it's $16.
Not worth driving 1hr (30min each way) to save $3.
