I've been a faithful subscriber of AllTrails+ for years but the ensh*ttification of the service is starting to bug me. Ok fine, I'm ok with you paywalling new features behind yet *another* higher subscription tier, but stop effing nagging me to pay for the higher tier every time I open the damn app.

AllTrails Plus is a handy offline mapping and trail-planning membership for hikers and outdoors use. It makes it easy to find new trails, preview routes, and save maps for later, and it has also been useful for showing exact walking paths on a map. The deal has worked on expired accounts and even renewals through some Amex offers, with instant confirmation in some cases. The main caveat is the recurring push to upgrade to the higher Peak tier, and the membership may auto renew, so it is worth marking the calendar.

  • An Amex offer can reduce the 1-year cost to around $9 and the confirmation email can arrive quickly.

  • The deal can work for reactivating an expired AllTrails+ membership rather than only new signups.

  • AllTrails Plus helps with downloading maps to a mobile device for offline use.

  • AllTrails Plus can plot an exact walking path location on the map when saving routes.

  • The app can repeatedly nag users to upgrade from Plus to a higher Peak tier.

  • AllTrails Plus may auto-renew, so calendar reminders are needed to avoid unexpected renewal timing.

  • The discounted offer is not valid on renewals, which can limit savings for active subscribers.

  • New features may be paywalled behind another subscription tier, adding friction for existing Plus members.

If you have an American Express Blue Card there is a 50% cash back offer if you add the offer to your card then use THEIR link www.alltrails.com/amex to sign up. I just did it and the coupon worked for my renewal. Some of these only work for NEW subs. So one year for less than $10!!! Thanks for the code !

It goes on sale at some point every month. Granted 1/2 is better than usual. Let you subscription expire for any amount of time and you can then get the discounted rates. You won't lose any maps you have saved to a list.
I'm not complaining about AllTrails+. I've had a Plus subscription for years and actually like the service.

I'm complaining about a nag screen asking me to upgrade from Plus to their higher tier Peak subscription every time I open the app. I have no interest in those features and the fact that it keeps nagging me is such a poor customer experience I'm going to let my current Plus subscription lapse and look for an alternative.

This is a great app been using it for like 3 years after 6 months using it I bought the yearly plan. But just recently I used it in work to show my walking path location on the map so I can save that map instead it taking a screenshot of Google Maps and then drawing it in this actually plotted my exact location on that map which was pretty cool
