Sherwin Williams paint is still valued for solid coverage and premium lines like Emerald, but the 40 percent off sale lands against noticeably higher prices than before. Emerald and Duration are running around $60 a gallon now, with interior SuperPaint at $89 and some contractor tier ProMar around $35ish under the deal. Extra coupons can help, including $10 off $50 text offers and a $30 off $100 form coupon that stacks online or in store. The main drawback is simple, the discounts do not fully offset the price increases, so it feels best for shoppers who want Sherwin Williams specific products.
DIYers buying multiple gallons for a larger project, because the 40% off sale stacks with contractor pricing and beats BOGO-style promos.
Painters covering lightly used walls, because builder-grade ProMar can be fine and the contractor rate can bring a gallon to about $35.
Shoppers repainting exterior trim or siding, because Duration exterior has been bought successfully with the same discounts and still lands around $60 a gallon.
Buyers expecting premium paint to stay inexpensive, because Emerald and SuperPaint have risen sharply and can still cost around $60 to $89 a gallon after discounts.
Woodworkers priming OSB, because the water-based primer sold for that surface can leave the sheets flaking and may need oil-based primer instead.
Painters who need extra paint for touch-ups, because some brands can come up short on volume and leave no backup paint for later repairs.

It worked. Did not check if I could use same code for a 3rd purchase.
EDIT: Thanks again, I used the code I was texted for two separate orders of a single 1-gallon can of exterior duration.
In June '23 I paid about $50 plus tax per can with the same discounts, today it was about $60 per, or about +20% in three years.
EDIT 2: Tried the $10 code again today, it reports as already used. Also used the $30 yesterday.
