I heard these are terrible batteries after a few charges. Their retention is low.

In my world there are very few devices that function properly on 1.2v batteries. The few that do work, stop when the voltage drops below 1.2v.

I'd skip these Granicell AA batteries. The $9.99 price is attractive, but a claimed 2800 mAh from an unfamiliar brand is a red flag: real NiMH AA capacity at the high end is generally around 2,450–2,600 mAh, and bargain cells often have lower actual capacity, higher self-discharge, and less consistent quality.

1.2 volts isnt an issue. Regular disposable batteries have plenty of capacity left below 1.2 volts.
