make sure you turn off the stupid RAM PLUS option in ONE settings, it will double your speed

This is regular price. The product just goes OOS occasionally since you can only have so many refurbs

The phone is pathetically slow even with all junk removed. The reason is simple - 4gb RAM is not enough for an Android in 2026.

4gm ram is miserable. a moto power 2024 with 1500/1500/1.5 same price is much faster due to 8gb ram

It's not only the RAM that makes this slow. The A16's CPU is less powerful than that of a decade old iPhone 8. I bought this as a sidegrade for my mom who used a Galaxy A32 (which was "free" in 2021) previously, but it might actually be a slight downgrade in performance (much better screen and security updates, though).

Security updates is an issue on its own. Samsung is know for slowing down older gen phones to push newer models. They were caught on and admitted it (same as Apple). I remember specifically how my ones flagship Galaxy S8 became junk after multiple updates.

How do they get away with this is the real question here.

i got a couple of these earlier this year at this same price. i just leave them in the kids gloveboxes for emergencies. They work fine for that, but they would be a bit annoying as a full time phone.

and yes, not available at this time.

Every year I get a 'new' phone from Tracfon, QVC, etc with the minutes, etc added to my balances. I have done these the past 7-8 years. I honestly have to say getting this phone this year I got the worst phone yet. It is borderline unusable. So slow I just spend time waiting for the next screen after pushing any button. The Moto I had last year would run circles around this one. Alright this is my second phone, and it was only $40 for the phone and another year to maintain the balances, but I try to avoid using it as much as possible - so much so that I received a warning from Tracfone to use it more or I would lose my number.
