FWIW, I think Breakpoint was actually better mechanically (gameplay wise) but they did make it a confusing mess with all of their daily nonsense, layers of different interfaces, upgrades, buying gear, branching mission system*, etc. I probably had 60+ hours in the game and I am not sure I still understand 50% of it.

*I actually 'beat' the game halfway through playing not realizing I was completing the final story mission way earlier than intended. Each group of mission sets were stories within a larger narrative arc so it wasn't a big deal just odd when I killed a ho-hum boss and suddenly I'm in some end game cinematic. The first game's story arc was also a mess because you just seem to be going after random 'capos' but it made more sense. Never ended up killing all the bosses since it seems like an endless list.

I think either game is well worth the money when purchased on sale. Wildlands gets big props for being able to play offline.
Gotta disagree having played both. The mechanics in Wildlands, including driving, was much more fluid and fun. Everything in Breakpoint felt clunky and unnecessary, including the hub of other players. Wildlands you could just jump in and shoot stuff and have fun with friends. I did not feel that way with Breakpoint. The biggest mistake Wildlands had was not paying the rights and taking Predator out. That mission was sick.

I liked the gunplay much better in Breakpoint, that's just me personally. Also the bases were more varied in Breakpoint, Wildlands felt a lot more copy and paste but more 'lived in' at the same time.

But you are right, that central hub was awful and worthless waste of time, also the campfire interface to get perks. That took so long to load just so you could re-up your perk or change weapons. And typical Ubisoft making me be in some annoying online only word, seeing other players in certain places ruining immersion. Yet I don't recall a single mission or fight I ever had where another human was involved. Just like the The Division, completely shoehorned in for 100% single players like me. (between D1 and D2, I can only recall a single time in D1 where I ever played multiplayer, and that was just because I could not beat a single boss along. Hundreds of hours of online play for 5 minutes of MP)

IMO, pluses and minuses all around.

P.S. I must have played after they took the Predator out. I don't recall ever seeing that. Honestly I figured you were talking about a vehicle not the alien who killed Carl Weathers.

Ubisoft Connect launcher ruins this game. I couldn't get it to run on Windows at all, it was stuck on an infinite loading screen. I eventually got it running on Linux but had to go through a bunch of hoops to authenticate my Ubisoft account.

Until Ubisoft eliminates their secondary launcher, I wouldn't recommend buying any Ubisoft game at any price.

$4.99 on console but cheaper on PC makes no sense. Should've been the same price on all platforms!

Was just at GameStop Friday and they had the disc for $4.99 - I think they're still doing the 4-for-$10 and I think this would apply

It had nothing to do with the launcher. It is an issue with intel e cores and p cores. Ubisoft never fixed it. I can't believe they continue to sell it without a fix. I'm not wasting my time on it.

It's $9.49 online. Do they have different prices in store or was there some sale that ended?
