bought this and returned it. But still not worth it compared to samsung fold 6 i had. My main issue is that i have a viture AR glass and this one doesnt work with glass. nothing showed up when plugged in which was odd, because i have a pixel 9 and that actually shows a screen when you plug in AR glass. The inner screen is same size as galaxy fold 6 with the hinge in across the longer axis. but then add the bezels on top. I did like the front screen's usability compared to galaxy fold 6. That is more proper front screen for day to day tasks. But in the end, i opted to just trade in fold 6 i bought from ebay for fold 8 wide. Net cost comes to like 400 dollars when factoring in free galaxy buds.

Plus i went and tried out the new z fold 8 wide in bestbuy. hinge is great. snaps open. display is nice. crease is pretty much invisible compared to z fold 6. only downside is camera maxes out at 30x zoom, which means, realistically you have like 5x zoom of usable camera, which is not great for good shots due to distortion. I will have to do handson to see how it compares to my s24 ultra camera to make a good judgement. Inside bestbuy its studio lighting. wonder what low light performance of that single usable camera will be like on fold 8 wide.

Bought one last August. The internal display failed last month. The vendor's limited warranty was useless because the support email they provided was no longer active. Thankfully, Woot approved my RMA request. I'm currently waiting for my refund.

Not a fan of folding phone, otherwise will have definitely jump on this. Any recommendations for flagship phone that wouldn't have screen iseue down the line. I have been unlucky with OnePlus and Pixel so far?

It's Woot and they're selling for a quarter of the list price. What do you think the answer is to that question?
LOL, he's being sarcastic.

Not even that, unless you like throwing away money.

yeah, agreed highly unlikely given it's a downgrade from my current fold 5, except the form factor.

3 years old first gen model. Very delicate. I had to return mine twice due to bubbling on inner screen and then sold it used on ebay.

I liked the phone alot, just wasn't durable.

This would be a nice device to install GrapheneOS on. Not at 500 though

Apparently the team of Stanford MBAs determined this form factor was no good. And then Samsung took over.
