Obligatory PSA: These have a bitter coating on them to prevent children and pets from swallowing them, which can be very dangerous. The coating can be removed by lightly sanding it off, but wiping it off with rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol will suffice. The coating can act like an insulating layer and affect conductivity in certain devices.

how is a bitter coating that prevents them from swallowing more dangerous than a 3 year old ingesting a battery? that makes no sense.
