Will not work with smartthing 2. If you have smartthing 3 it should work. I kind of got it to work with 2 but I had to install something and it kept dropping all the time. Too much of a hassel is you have Smarthing 2 I did have an alexa in the same room so I just set that up too send alerts when it beeps. You can do that with alexa devies and it works well. Almost too well cause I know when someone now uses the microwave. But if your wanting to get alerts on your phone if there is a fire and you have an alexa you can do that.

Seems to be kinda expensive and it is tough to justify.

These will work with many security systems and all full featured z-wave systems (homeseer, hubitat, homey, zbox, fibaro, homeassistant)

As they are connected alarms, they are exempted from the hardwired provision in fire codes.

Why bother?

When my smoke/co alarms go off, everybedroom light, hallway light, and exterior light in my house turns on. Texts and emails are sent to multiple phones/accounts.

I had the battery version of these that worked with Ring. 2 just went EOL and replaced with the Kidde wifi version that came with an indoor ring camera for 35 bucks each that was on the front page the other day.

Anyone have experience with both?

Want to buy one to integrate with my ring alarm, can someone confirm that only one is needed? My understanding is that if one alarm triggers they all go off, if one is Zwave then Ring will be alerted?

This is not a slick deal in the least. Also these are crap. They only lasted a few years and then started going off on their own in the middle of the night.

Just purchased. Have used them for over 4 years without issue with the Ring alarm system.

Is this a new model? I have about 6 of these paired to my SmartThings V2 hub and they just work. Some of them are almost 10 years old now though and I have had to start replacing one or two that started doing the end of life beep. The replacements paired right into my system without issues though. I'm in for another 2 to keep on hand for my next replacements.

I have the Old ones also but they are starting to die. I brought a new one off Amazon and couldn't get it to pair. Search the net and almost everyone says doesn't work with V2. I downloaded a driver got it to work but than it drops the connection everyday so I gave up.

Bummer! My two pack arrived but I don't have an immediate need to replace one yet. I also have a v3 hub on my network so if it won't pair to V2, I guess I could try the v3 (and lose fully local execution of automations across the two hubs, but my fire alarms only have one automation and notifications which wouldn't work without Internet anyway). Thanks for your report. I'll try to remember to report back when I give it a try.
