Lol, my dad bod finally kicked in at 47 and I get what you mean. I have a few compression gym shirts I used to wear for arms and shoulders day for a little compression. But when I'm carrying a little extra they make my hips look just like my biceps šŸ˜‚

Yes it will dry quicker than cotton(because plastic fiber don't hold water), but it's not wicking it's the opposite. Its trapping heat and moisture next to your skin. As a single layer workout fabric it can be drier because of airflow, as an under layer it's not wicking.
