I am not sure why. I believe their may be very solid plans to revive Energy and releasing these may be part of regaining Brand awareness. It may have been part of the deal with NEAD. JAMO is also part of the deal and will be releasing a number of new models with the intent to revive the brand as a HiFi brand and not Ikea esque.
All Energy RC-XX speakers were made in China. The were never manufactured in Canada.
The speaker line was announced in 2005 and rolled out in late 2005 and 2006.
Klipsch bought Energy in 2006.
These were basically manufactured while in Klipsch control for most of the speakers run.
There is no 'newer Klipsch' version, that said the original Energy company performed quality control on the product line in Canada before passing the speakers on to vendors.
I would suspect quality control went down when that stopped and all QC was done in China back in 2007.
Now it is likely back up as manufacturing costs are so low and the ability to produce high quality products at scale so commonplace it just comes with the territory.
I wouldn't worry and Klipsch does not own the brand anymore but they may be manufacturing them for NEAD right now.

These are an older design they did measure very well back in original objective testing from mid 200X, it would be nice if Erin's Audio or someone would receive a pair to test.
I can not say I really needed the extra set, but will be fun to compare.

I'm not surprised with your impression, very much a lateral move.
If there is an improvement, it's going to be incremental ime.
You didn't mention which Denon but in general, adding more power to those two speakers would be a incremental sonic benefit IF one at all ime.
You might want to look into & try A1EVO Express.
It's a game changer for Audyssey RC ime.

The problem with using the 363s as surrounds.
Often all seating positions don't have a line of sight to all the woofers.
If that's the case you're blocking the sound.

The problem with using the 363s as surrounds.

The 2400 should have no problem for 2.1,even 7.1 imo.
With the very limited info.
In general, I would look at your calibration & integration.
Optimal 2.1 integration gets a little more intuitive.
Double check your speakers are set to small and subwoofer is on.
I would suggest a start with setting crossovers at 60 Hz and see what you think.
Contrary to popular belief having your speakers help with the bass frequency can be a good thing.
If it's a large open environment, speakers might not be ideal.
That said, you should still be able to make it work to be good enough ime.
Luckily, I was able to find out the problem by using chatgpt which told me to adjust the crossover and set my speakers to small but I'm wondering what else was missed that I could improve?
I'll be trying A1 Evo Express and Evo Acustix tomorrow to see how much better I can make it sound especially since I have two different subs

Bass set to LFE & popular setting is 120hz.
If your unit doesn't have SubEQ HT you should calibrate the subs prior because Audyssey will read them as one sub.
Subs set low pass all the way up, volume around 10-11 o'clock.
Since you're new just stick to Evo Express.

Room correction isn't a magic pill, in general terms it's a guesstimate.
Generally speaking:
Change/Set all your speakers to small, change/set all crossovers to 80hz.
Bass set to LFE & popular setting is 120hz.
If your unit doesn't have SubEQ HT you should calibrate the subs prior because Audyssey will read them as one sub.
Subs set low pass all the way up, volume around 10-11 o'clock.
Since you're new just stick to Evo Express.
I think it'll sound much better though once I run evo express which will hopefully better adjust my two different subs.
You need to run it prior to running Audyssey.
