Have had these for almost a decade. Still using them. They sound much more expensive than their price would suggest. Punch well above their weight. With that said, the sub is the only weak point.

Had these since 1999 when I bought them for my first home theater in Ann Arbor. Still going strong though the glue that held the speakers construction in place dried out

Bought these in 2013 at $299, great set and still use today. My bass is not that great but that's because my kids keep shoving their toys in the hole.

Obviously it depends on the sound bar. Convenience wise, soundbar does better. Sound wise, 5.1, 7.1, etc are going to be better at sound placement, but requires more apparatus such as a receiver, amp, etc.

Not even close. To my experience, Sound bar is better than TV speaker but true 5.1 system is much better. I have a TCL soundbar in bedroom, and had a Hisense 7.1 soundbar before which actually came with a sub and two surround.
