Is this quite a bit of a step up from the normal jamo deal?

More fatiguingly ear-piercing. Not sure if that's "up", though.

keyword "audophile" aka elitest piggies begging to be seen as intelligent while they themselves cannot hear the difference between "mid tier" & "audophile" setups.

It depends who you ask.
Keep in mind you're comparing this 5.1.2 vs 5.0 with Jamo.
The Jamo is almost half the price also.

Two very different sound signatures.
Klipsch is considered overall very bright/harsh sound.
The Jamo is more in the neutral sound.

reddit users hate this setup "I had basically that Klipsch system, reference towers and satellite speakers, reference sub. It was terrible, harsh highs, muddy lows, sub was boomy but didn't hit low frequencies."
I myself, not an audiophile and looking to purchase an audio setup. please help

Some people just don't like certain brands. That hardly makes them "elitist piggies".

Also, "audiophile" is a noun, not an adjective. "Mid tier" would refer to the equipment, which is a tier above these. "Audiophile" is a person.

Are you looking to get into music or home theater? Two different approaches. And you need to decide on a budget so people can help.

It depends on comparison.
This is a 5.1.2 the Energy is 5.0.Sonic wise that's a personal choice after listening to them.

General speaking Klipsch is considered very bright/ harsh sounding.
The Energy will be more neutral/ laid back sounding.
You will likely want to add a sub to the energy package.
The sub on this is entry level, so would benefit from a higher end one.

Unfortunately sound is completely subjective and every environment is uniquely different.
Reading isn't really gonna do much but I get that's really the only option nowadays.

Best place to start is with speakers especially since the quality of them make thee biggest impact on the quality of sound.
I would suggest trying to listen to as many speakers as you would realistically consider.
If you find something you really like, just go with it.

People will always say there is something just as good for less or better for more.
That's all just a big rabbit hole you don't want to go down.

If that's too much work & just want to gamble on a packaged deal.
The Energy package for $799 is a pretty good gamble.
All you'll need is a decent sub and a receiver that has the features you will need/use.
Used is the most inexpensive way & good option ime.
