It's got that charcoal grill flavor for sure. I've only used them once on chicken and it was delicious.

I mix them half and half just to add a bit of the charcoal flavor and because I read it burns too hot for the traeger sensors so it'll fluctuate temp a lot more if it's 100% charcoal.

Traeger is probably my least favorite pellets and I have a traeger smoker.
