I hate to say it but this machine is garbage. There's a known defect with descaling that causes the entire machine to fail. There are years of posts about this issue and Keurig refuses to fix it.

I highly recommend going through another retailer like Costco for hassle free return once it fails.

It just trips the thermal fuse on the boiler. Open it up, take a paper clip, and pop the fuse back in. Annoying, but my machine has been going strong 2+ years now. Only had to reset it 5 times so far. Makes darn good and smooth coffee compared to my old single needle.

So, it's garbage like the OP mentioned.

Spend more on a better unit or buy it through a retailer who backs the purchase like the OP mentions.

Mine recently died suddenly after just over a year (unrelated to descaling). Normally I'd laugh at the idea of buying a SquareTrade plan for a coffee maker, but such is Keurig's reputation that I did this time and was so grateful that I did.
