Worth noting the premium atmos rears that are truely wireless you can get for right now around $300 ymmv https://www.bestbuy.com/product/s...ku/6502033

Otherwise the cheaper rears that are still excellent SA-RS3S are often open box or on eBay for $150-$175 just not atm

Best Buy open box deals are always a crap shoot. I bought this exact model open box excellent condition, opened it up at home, and noticed that the packaging for the soundbar itself had been tampered with but the remote control and power cord were still sealed. Suspicious but I still hooked it up and yup, it was dead. Luckily I had no issues returning it. I ordered it from somewhere else and that one worked out of the box.

Sound wise, I'm not an audiophile so I can't make educated commentary other than it sounds pretty good. I have a TCL soundbar on my other TV and you can at least tell the Sony is higher quality.

RSL speedwoofer 10e is what I have. Pop of the small cover near the rear ports, and the sub and rear wired ports are there. You don't need the matching Sony wireless stuff

Couldn't agree more. I ordered an open box "Good" condition LG S95TR soundbar yesterday and when I got there neither the soundbar, subwoofer or rear speakers had power cables. It was also beat to hell and had no remote control. Open box condition is very store dependent. I've gotten "fair" condition items that came with everything and looked new.

If you are in the market for a soundbar, this deal is even better than it first appears. That $500 price for new is the marked down price from the $1,000 normal price.

This soundbar is a model that was released a few years ago, but still might be viable as audio standards really haven't changed much since release.

You can even add a sub and rears to this if you are so inclined.

I have the Sony Theatre Bar 8 which is probably about the same as this.. same tech, audio processing, etc. I just got the SA-RS5 wireless rears I posted about above (open box good) they were in like new condition. I had to reset them and all that nonsense that took awhile but it was worth it. The rear speakers that are atmos are exceptional. The 3D Spatial Audio/tone mapping Sony does is the best. It beats Samsung etc. but requires some calibration that is easy but takes a minute.. non atmos/dtsx stuff sounds outstanding too anything 5.1 or better
