My Subway account got hacked several years ago and someone in Texas ordered $30 for pickup using one of my saved cards on the Subway account. I disputed the charge with my bank and Subway will basically only let me use giftcards for online or app purchases now. No matter what card I use, credit / debit / cash app / apple pay... it gets declined. Gift card, works no problem 100% of the time. I am probably blacklisted on their app lol All because Subway didn't have better security (if someone new is accessing the account, logic dictates perhaps an email verify is in order? Or at least require them enter the 3 digit code from the back of the card at checkout?).

Last year I ordered on the app and when I got to the store, the girl working by herself there said they were out of the stuff to make my order and told me to contact Subway support for a refund. Well.... we know how there is no support at all for Subway lol When you submit a contact form on the Subway website, it just sends that message to that particular Subway's management. So fast forward, I still haven't been refunded my $10 for that order. Never got my food or refund. I went in multiple times to ask about it in-person and they don't know how to do a refund for an order and say only the head manager can do it but they are never in.

I mean, I like Subway but ugh these issues have been super annoying to deal with. 100% non-existant customer service. Subway has to be the worst company I've dealt with when it comes to customer support at any level because of all the stores being franchises are being allowed to do whatever they want.

No deal for me. Unfortunately Subway has totally shot me as a customer. I've faithfully bought at least three or four subs from them each week for well north of a decade. I knew the store managers / staff at like 5 stores in my area. Loved ordering by app and picking up in store. Saved a lot of time for me. Was using the in-app coupon deals like a boss and a happy camper. But over the last few months I've began suffering from their horrific app that fails at checkout. It became a time sink trying to order, only to have it error out on the payment screen. Gives a useless message saying something like it's busy right now and to refresh or to call tech support. Except there is no support. Checkout and payment was a 50/50 chance of success at first. My own fault, but I'd be late to appointments while trying like hell to get the orders to go through. Over the last couple weeks it's become fully 100% non-functional. Tried changing payment types, used one credit card, then a debit, then a different credit card, reloaded the app onto my phone from scratch, and went to the pc and tried to order off the computer browser... all multiple times. They all let me log in, configure some food, and same error message on checkout. I'm a computer & network nerd and am way more willing to fiddle with buggy apps than most people. I've come to the conclusion I've been black listed from anything except walk-in / in-person ordering in store. Not sure what I did. Been a huge a fan of Subway for the last 15+ years. Did the reward stamp booklets religiously back in the day. Something was taking away from me that I really liked. Felt a loss, as dumb as it sounds. I don't see myself spending any more time or money with them for the foreseeable future. Flip'in insane to me. Fortunately there are a couple of other competitor sub shops in my metro area that I am going to try out.

That is so helpful to know. I ordered for the first time in like a year and fought with the app failing me at the payment screen. Tried a bunch of times and it was a very frustrating experience. I couldn't figure out what I did wrong. Never had issues when I used to order semi-regularly before the store near my work closed a year or so ago. Good to now there is some underlying issue I wasn't aware of.

Someone in a past thread said that they had heard you should be able to use up the remaining balance on a gift card if you have a CC set up as a default payment method. In other words, it will accept a partial payment via gift card as long as you have another payment method that will automatically be billed for the remainder of the balance. I never saw anyone confirm, but it might be worth a try.

Had two in my cart for a total of $36. When I went to the payment screen it showed that but said "you pay $18". I looked to make sure it was for and it was but when I looked at the total again it went to $36.
