I've had this offer on my account for well over a year. They stopped including the steak, egg & cheese bagel

Community Reviews

McDonald's app breakfast sandwich deal is a strong discount on eligible breakfast items, especially where regular prices run around five dollars or more. The offer is tied to Rewards, valid at participating locations through 10, 4, and in some accounts it appears weekly or even daily. The biggest draw is the steep savings on McMuffins and biscuit sandwiches, with some locations still allowing steak, egg and cheese bagels through the Deals tab. The main catch is that bagels and steak have been removed in many areas, and the exact sandwich list and redemption limit vary by market and account.

Regular app users who already open the breakfast menu, because the offer can appear every time the app is loaded for breakfast ordering and may be available weekly or daily by region.
bob151 kshots2 SlySol
People who prefer a real egg breakfast sandwich, because the round egg is described as fresh-cooked and actual egg while the scrambled option is treated as a boxed egg product.
trza pdxtechdoctor NoGodsNoMasters
Breakfast commuters who want a filling sandwich before 11, because the offer applies to breakfast items only and can cut a locally $5-plus sandwich down to $2.
Isitbudgetfriendly CoolWalrus186
Shoppers who want the steak, egg, and cheese bagel when it is included, because the deal can cover a sandwich that normally costs about $7.39 locally.
swagqueen Walstar2

Bagel sandwich fans who want the widest breakfast menu, because some versions exclude bagels and steak entirely.
jayadams22 Walstar2 Eragorn Eragorn
People who only buy breakfast when the sandwich is heavily discounted, because the $2 price is seen as too much compared with other app offers and lower regional prices.
Pi.314 katnapped UpbeatSweater137 ScarletCrib985
Shoppers who want the bacon egg and cheese McMuffin, because this offer can leave that sandwich out of the eligible choices.
Fred Quimby Walstar2
Privacy-conscious app users, because redeeming the deal requires the McDonald's app and its location and device-data permissions.
ctcsd ctcsd

The deal is available through the McDonald's app at participating locations and is valid once per week through 10/4/26.
lovefreebies4 WittyGazelle6393
The $2 breakfast sandwich offer can be a noticeable discount versus local regular pricing around $5.29.
Isitbudgetfriendly
The offer can include higher-priced items like the steak, egg and cheese bagel when selected through the Deals section in-app.
swagqueen
The app can support Egg McMuffin customization by substituting regular bacon for Canadian bacon with a small upcharge.
SlySol

The $2 offer can exclude bagels and steak, limiting eligible sandwiches to biscuits and McMuffins with specific meats.
Walstar2 jayadams22
The app deal can be less attractive than other app promotions, such as $1 coffee or free medium fries with a $1 purchase.
Pi.314 Pi.314
The McDonald's app can raise privacy and data-access concerns, including location requirements and broad device permissions.
ctcsd ctcsd
The redemption experience can vary by how the deal is entered in the app, which can prevent selecting certain items from the homepage.

Common Questions (5)

The deal can include Egg McMuffin, Sausage McMuffin with Egg, Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese McGriddles, and Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddles. In some areas or app versions, bagels and steak items are excluded, while other accounts still show a broader selection.
Isitbudgetfriendly Walstar2 BigDave44 swagqueen
Some app versions still allow the steak, egg & cheese bagel if you enter the deal through the Deals section, and it can be a strong value versus the regular local price. Other versions remove bagels and steak entirely, so availability depends on the current offer shown in your app.
jayadams22 Walstar2 Eragorn swagqueen
The headline price is $2, but commenters report seeing $1.50, $1, $3, and even a daily $2.50 breakfast sandwich offer depending on location or account. That makes the app price highly regional, so the exact discount can differ from the posted deal.
MRDC UpbeatSweater137 ScarletCrib985 DelSerra
The posted offer is once per week through 10/4 at participating McDonald's, but some accounts show a different version marked valid 1x/day. That means the redemption limit can vary by region or account, so the app's deal screen is the best place to confirm your version.
lovefreebies4 kshots2 SlySol WittyGazelle6393
Yes, it only works for breakfast items before 11. After breakfast cutoffs, the offer does not apply.

That is a regional deal. In my region $1 coffee has been on for years. They also have buy one get one free on breakfast sandwiches, excluding bagels.

Dang. Steak and egg bagel is the sleeper sandwich imo. It used to have a bigger mystery steak patty but the sauce makes it. I'll have to try with round egg next time.

Just now redeemed this for my daughter. If I enter the deal from the homepage, I can't choose the steak, egg and cheese bagel. However, if I go to deals and go in that way, I can order the steak, egg and cheese bagel, which is normally $7.39 here, so I'd call this a pretty good deal. I couldn't get one. I'm on the shot, but it's good for her because she gets pretty hangry. Protein shake here I come.
