bought the green ones during the last sale ($60). they came in 100% perfect condition from what i could tell. and they sound great, ANC works well on flights - noticeably better (all around) than the Tozo HT3s i have. just bought the black for my wife. thanks OP!

These headphones constantly break near the left or right earpiece hinges, depending on your luck. Even after modifications and several design changes, they still break.

Probably the worst product Sony has released in a long time. But they dirt cheap

At this price, these headphones are unbeatable. ANC is very good. The bass will rock your ears off and you can adjust the sound to your liking in the app. I have been using the ones I bought new for long time and have no issues. So there's that.

I had a pair of these for several years until the left speaker died. When they died the ear pads and headband were well worn, but the hinges were still perfect.
Edit: These are a more recent version of the ones I had, which were not the ULT version.

So what? There are people who have never had their appendix removed, but that doesn't mean everyone is like that.
Especially since Sony itself officially acknowledged the problem almost immediately after releasing the headphones back in 2024.

My son has a pair and yes, can confirm the hinges break. Granted he accidentally stepped on them, but they broke. I bought a new pair for him for Christmas but he switched to Skullcandy and I kept the ULTs, even though I have the xm4s. I actually use the ults more than the xm4s now because I like the way they sound, and they don't need to be powered on to sound good when plugged in to a 3.5mm jack for PC headphones. Now that he's had the Skullcandys for a while he says he prefers the ULTs.
Awesome sound. Insane price. Amazing anc. The hinges are a weak spot, but they're not going to just break while they're laying there or while their on your head. Like anything, take care of them and they'll be amazing. Step on them, continually drop them, or play rugby in them, and yes they probably won't make it long.
And even if they do break, treat yourself to a new set or a full refund because eBay has a warranty on refurbs. I've had to use it with some earbuds a while back and it was super easy.

So what? Everybody knows that smoking causes lung cancer, but not everybody who smokes gets lung cancer. The point is, people are stating that broken hinges are a virtual guarantee, instead of just more common than in other models/brands.

I bought these refurbished headphones from the previous sale and they're the best headphones I've used at this price range. They came looking brand new. The pair I received had a serial number not on Sony's list, so I guess that's good too. I think if you don't fold these up too often you'll be fine.

I second the comments about the hinges but I dropped them a couple of times, but nothing that that good ol dental acrylic cannot fix they have been working great for two years that I got another pair 8 months ago around the same price that I have taken care and they are good as new. So they sound awesome and the anc is game changer for the price also the auto play feature when you remove and place them back feels like cheating for a cheap price.

I bought these during the last sale like some others and they came in brand new. I used them for a trip to Europe and they were excellent on the plane. I highly recommend them.
