Anyone know if you can run 2 of these in a dual monitor setup?

It takes (mini)HDMI or USBC displayport alt mode

So as long as your device can output these separately (eg two hdmi outputs, or two usbC with dp alt mode). Don't think it supports DP chaining

Devices like Samsung dex only support one display out via usbC

Yes, if you have two HDMI/USB-C from your computer.

I am using a USB-C to dual HDMI splitter to connect two such monitors

I bought this last year from the same eBay through Acer deal.

I'm not sure what this listing will give you, mine is labelled as PM161Q, but doesn't look anything like the pictures. mine also didn't come with a cover. Some of their own pictures don't line up as the same monitor either (look at the bezels of picture 1 and picture 2).

Reviews noted that other people didn't get a monitor like they saw pictured.

That being said, it is a great cheap portable monitor. It was packaged very well, I saw no flaws or scratches on the unit at all. It is a great deal if you need one. I would buy again if I had a use for another. I would note the model I got didn't come with a cover.

What are the uses for these when you have a large gaming monitor?

I got one last year. Priced right and a good monitor. Mine has nice thin bezels and a better kick stand. The one pictured might be an older model. Acer usually has several listings for the refurb portable monitors.

Portability. I use one in my work bag to act as a secondary monitor when I need another screen for work, or use it as a display for desktops when I'm building a stack and just need a temporary monitor. These won't replace a 27" or 32" monitor, but you can't carry those around. Ideally, you match the size of the screen to your laptop's display so you can easily sort windows between them.

Most of the time these also have VESA mounting screws so someone could use these as a small secondary display, but portability is first and foremost for these products.

I think this listing is incorrect. I see no evidence this model has mini HDMI, just USB-C alt mode. None of their pictures show a mini HDMI, but there's another similar "PM161Q" model that indeed does have mini HDMI on the same side with the USB-C connector. I think they have their listings mixed up.

Here's what appears to be the same model, confirming no mini HDMI: https://pamperinn.com/products/ac...ed-grade-b

That sucks, because I was about to purchase this display to replace my old no-name model I've had for a few years that has some bruising from wear and tear over the years.

Quite a few devices, like desktop minis, don't have USB-C alt mode, but do have an available HDMI out. I'd use my current portable monitor roughly 50/50 with Alt Mode and mini HDMI, so sadly this monitor is out for me.

Hm, many 15 inch portables have a full size HDMI port.

The make little adapters now, real handy. Work with AR glasses or these little monitors and $10
