I am sitting in front of mine here in August and feel zero heat coming off of it unless i put my hand 1/4" from the screen. Now, If you turn on HDR in Windows for whatever reason, it does get hot. If you turn off HDR in Windows it acts like any other monitor. Not sure why that is. But I turned it off over a year ago and it's perfectly cool.
" for whatever reason" what? lol. Who gets a monitor like this and doesn't use HDR for gaming or movies? That's literally half the appeal of high nit/high res monitors. Only 5% of people are getting monitors like this for production purposes.

Amex plat has an offer of $100 back via statement credit after $1000 purchase at samsung if you sign up for the offer and pay with your amex plat. Ymmv though as not all members will get the offer. Im also not sure if it works with Samsung discount program. Maybe someone can chime in on that.

300w max, to quantify the heat concern. did not see how much depth it takes with the V legs in specs, pictures look like it is non trivial desk size required in that depth direction.
Feels like im cooking my head if you game all day on this no joke.....

It is almost required to have this on a monitor stand swivel instead of the one that came with it LOL idk how the hell youd get that to fit with those long legs on any desktop

Normal sales price for this. This was released 3 years ago, and realistically it should only be $1,000 at this point.

It's a good monitor, but the high resolution creates limitations in terms of the bandwidth needed to drive it. If you have two devices, and one of them cannot do the full resolution, you end up having to limit the refresh rate in the monitor, otherwise it will cap the max resolution.
I had my gaming PC and my work PC connected to it, and I could not get it to work nicely with my work one without limiting it to 120Hz.
