if anyone is thinking this has 8 programable buttons think twice, check reviews, as some people report that the software cant program all of them

I had the Logitech MX Vertical mouse and needed a second one so I tried a few of these "discount" vertical mouses. Even though they look similar (sometimes exactly the same shape as the MX Vertical), in actual use there was always a huge difference in quality and performance vs the Logitech. This of course makes sense since the MX is like 4X more expensive that this mouse, but I ended up just getting a second MX Vertical.

I absolutely HATE Acer as a brand and have never, ever, seen a quality product from them. But in this case it's apparently not actually made by Acer, they just licensed the name, so I'm making an exception. My one and only reason for giving this a shot is the incredible convenience of having a horizontal scroll wheel, which for me would be a game changer. Even that would not have been good enough had it required installing any custom software, but according to one review it doesn't, so we'll see what happens.

It's not great that it doesn't have a small built-in rechargeable battery, but what can you expect at this price. I can live with that if the horizontal scroll works reliably and well.

i can report this mouse doesn't have any software to program the buttons, they are assigned by default, however look for X-Mouse Button Control webpage and with this software you may be able to program some buttons, im currently using it

X-Mouse Button Control
just chiming in i use x-mouse with my logitech m575, and the remapping is flawless, so no more logitech shovel ware on my pc, and while gaming i simply keybind to whatever i defined in x-mouse.

I bought this mouse the last time it was on sale. Horizontal scroll works fine as does the window switcher and zoom. The clicks are loud and incredibly cheap feeling with a very hollow sound.
